A wake-up call for policymakers, the report underscores the challenges facing patients who need emergency care and recognizes efforts to address these needs. America’s commitment to its emergency care system received mediocre or near-failing grades in this first-ever national report, which found in state-after-state, emergency care systems characterized by overcrowding, declining access to care, soaring liability costs and a poor capacity to deal with natural and man-made disasters.   more>>
